What are the Housing, Tuition & Other Costs?

The Technion attempts to enable all Visiting Students to live in the Student Dormitories on campus, unless special circumstances dictate otherwise. The following scale of charges (US$) applies for the 2000/2001 academic year :

  • Application Fee: $55, to be included when you send your Application Package.
  • Registration Fee: This fee is paid by Visiting Students from universities that do not have a formal exchange agreement with Technion. Dormitory equipment (bedding, kitchenware) and other administrative expenses are included in this fee, which is payable when you receive our notification of acceptance. Details of fees in table below.
  • Student Dormitory Fee1: $200/month, no meals included. (Note that the fee for full-time degree students at Technion is subsidized, and consequently Visiting Students pay a higher fee than degree students). Visiting Students from partner universities also pay a one-time Housing Supplement (to cover costs of bedding, kitchenware) of $150. All students pay a Deposit of $50, refundable following their stay, to cover any damage, losses etc. incurred during their stay. These various fees may be paid on arrival at Technion.
  • Intensive Hebrew Course2: (if required) $350 (no meals or accommodation included), payable in advance
  • Tuition Fee: (See table). Not paid by students from partner universities. The fee is payable prior to, or on arrival at Technion.
  • Student card3: (See table). Payable by all students prior to, or on arrival at Technion. This fee includes insurance against accidents at Technion.
